About Gunner:

Gunner is a medium-sized, male Heading Dog, aged 1 years old.

Hi, I’m Gunner. I’m a beautiful natured 1-year-old heading dog, living on a farm in Gisborne.

I’ve lived here since I was a wee pup.

I spend my days following my farmer round, doing the play bow – and hoping for a head pat.

It’s true. I’m a lovable lad – always hoping to be a part of things… except working stock!

It’s just not a passion of mine. I have ZERO interest in sheep.

My farmer thinks I’d make a lovely pet, so she’s hoping to find me a loving new home where I’ll have plenty of exercise and quality time with my humans.

I’m a quiet boy that hardly barks! My farmer thinks I’d make an excellent mountain biking or running buddy in a town home.

And guess what? I’d also make a fabulous companion for a horse owner.

My farmer thinks I’d do well running alongside horses on outings.

She thinks I’d be happy living as a solo dog, or sharing with a female would be fine too.

I’m not neutered so I do tend to be a little bossy round other male dogs at times, so best not to share a house with them.

I’m yet to meet cats or chickens, however, I’m excellent round children!

I spend lots of time playing with my farmer’s younger siblings. They’re so much fun.

Since I’m a bouncy energetic boy, it’s probably best I don’t live with the extra tiny ones though. I might accidentally knock them over when playing.

When new people come to my home, my farmer says I’m a good boy. I’m reserved. I won’t jump all over them or be in their face, I’ll just take my time to get to know them and have a pat – if they’re up for it.

Life’s pretty good right now. I LOVE taking myself off for a swim in the trough and riding the quad bike’s fun too!

It’s always tough being left behind though, while the team head to work… and I’m excited for what new adventures await me.

So, if you’re looking for a kind-hearted water-loving guy to follow you through your days, why not consider welcoming ME into your life?

Send an email, explaining a little about yourself and what kind of home you can offer me.
