Joe is a 2.5 year old male heading dog who is looking for a quiet home with lots of love.

Joe is a very loyal and loving dog; he is excellent with other dogs of all sizes and great with stock (has not been tested on cats or chooks). Although Joe is so lovely with children, he is easily frightened by sudden movements or noises, and so is best suited to a home without them or with older and dog savvy children.

Because Joe wants to be with you all the time, he can come across as needy and does require reassurance as he can be a bit jumpy. He has excellent recall, is never far from your side and does not jump fences, although he will sneak through one to be with you if he can. This boy would love a rural home with a quad he can follow around-this is his happy place! He also enjoys the beach and is excellent on the lead (although does not enjoy walking busy crowded streets).

When inside, Joe will sometimes pace, and so his foster family have a crate set up for him to go into when he needs to settle in a safe space. Toilet trained in a crate at night.

Overall, Joe is a sweet and affectionate dog who would make a lovely companion on a lifestyle block and would be perfect for an active retired couple or an active family with bigger children. He would really love to have another dog around to help with his confidence.

Joe has been castrated, microchipped and is vaxed up to date. He has an adoption fee of $350. As with all of our foster dogs, we will require a property inspection and a vet reference from potential adopters. For more information, please email retired.workingdogs@gmail.com
