3 year old heading Dog Star joined RWD recently when a farm related accident ended in him needing a hind leg amputated.

This gorgeous boy has completely stolen the heart of his foster Mum, and made a some great friends at the vets (huge thanks to Eltham Veterinary Services!!).

Star was part way through his training as a working dog, and may like to go to a home where he can do a bit of sheep work but also be a family pet. Otherwise, he’d love an active home with another dog to play with, lots of toys (he’s just started playing with them and loves them!) and ideally lots of swimming which is his other favourite thing!

Star has been fine with the cats in foster, at his previous home he would eye them but not chase them. He’s great with other dogs, and although he can be a bit wary of men occasionally, once he’s met you he’s just a big smoocher. He has not had much exposure to children, so although he is very kind and gentle, we would prefer he went to a home with older children who are dog experienced.

Star is coping very well with his leg missing, and is still very active. He has been castrated, microchipped, and de-flead/wormed. There is an adoption fee of $250 for Star.
