We are always on the look-out for folk to provide homes for our dogs. The people listed on this page have applied to adopt by completing our form on “Application to Home a Dog“. They have all agreed to share their details so please don’t abuse the privilege.
Adopter detailsHi, I’d like to adopt a retired working dog.
About meMy name is Brandy. You can reach me on: 021870100 or email at email@example.com. I live in Nelson in our own property. I can walk/exercise a dog The dog would not be left alone. The dog is likely to be left alone for 0 hours per day.
EnvironmentThere are no children at the property. At our property, we have 1 cats, 6 chooks, 0 rabbits and 0 sheep.
Details of other animals:
two highland cows
We are interested in adopting the following dogs:
heading, vizsla, beardie, or really any dog retired from farm duties that knows about cows and chickens, and wants to stay close to to their people. Ideal situation would be a well behaved/ well trained dog that doesn’t bark needlessly
A few words about our property:
4ha lifestyle block previously fenced for sheep, plus lots of QE2 land nearby for leisurely walks. Also UTV + tracks for dogs with a bit more energy
Here is why I think we can provide a good home:
Both work from home, so dog will very rarely be left alone – ideal situation for a dog. Property is a lifestyle block (away from major traffic) with lots of gentle activities so an older farm dog won’t feel without a purpose.
