We are always on the look-out for folk to provide homes for our dogs. The people listed on this page have applied to adopt by completing our form on “Application to Home a Dog“. They have all agreed to share their details so please don’t abuse the privilege.
Adopter detailsHi, I'd like to adopt a retired working dog.
About meMy name is Tara Sutherland. You can reach me on: 03 325 1194 or email at moc.liamtoh@eirafrevirt. I live in Little River (Banks Peninsula, South Island) in our own property. I can walk/exercise a dog and I already have 1 other dogs. The dog is likely to be left alone for 5 hours per day.
EnvironmentThere are no children at the property. At our property, we have 3 cats, 0 chooks, 0 rabbits and 0 sheep.
Details of other animals:
pet Kune Kune pigs who are very used to large dogs
We are interested in adopting the following dogs:
Young male Huntaway- puppy or young adult up to age 3
A few words about our property:
1.5 acre lifestyle block, with high quality deer & foal fencing and secure gates.
Here is why I think we can provide a good home:
My husband and I love dogs (they are our children) and have owned and cared for several large breed dogs over the years including a Curly Coated Retriever, GSP, Lab x mastiff, Bully breeds and have farm-sat Huntaways and heading dogs. I am a qualified Vet Nurse who has done animal care for a number of lifestyle block neighbours and farmers. I currently teach full time at the local school (5 mins from home) Ryan is an environmental scientist who grew up on a farm and has always had dogs. We would to adopt a Huntaway, and possibly foster for you as well! I have summers off and now is an ideal time to introduce a new family member. Thanks!
