We are always on the look-out for folk to provide homes for our dogs. The people listed on this page have applied to adopt by completing our form on “Application to Home a Dog“. They have all agreed to share their details so please don’t abuse the privilege.
Adopter detailsHi, I’d like to adopt a retired working dog.
About meMy name is Jayne McMillan. You can reach me on: 0274529634 or email at email@example.com. I live in Alexandra in our own property. I can walk/exercise a dog and I already have 3 other dogs. The dog is likely to be left alone for 2 hours per day.
EnvironmentI have 1 children 6 and above. At our property, we have 2 cats, 15 chooks, 0 rabbits and 30 sheep.
Details of other animals:
Cattle and deer.
We are interested in adopting the following dogs:
Heading/eye bitch at least 1.5 yrs old who is happy to still do light sheep and cattle work on limited stock numbers
A few words about our property:
120 acres of central Otago semi high country. Fully deer and rabbit boundary fenced. Plenty of kennels (although the dogs tend to sleep in our shed/house each night).
Here is why I think we can provide a good home:
We have always had dogs! They are registered chipped and vaccinated. We believe they should be outside relaxing most of the time, and our current clan are awesome at just hanging, until they are allowed to go rabbiting. With the country we have, it is difficult to round up our small mobs of sheep to move or yard them, so a heading dog would be a welcome addition.
