We are always on the look-out for folk to provide homes for our dogs. The people listed on this page have applied to adopt by completing our form on “Application to Home a Dog“. They have all agreed to share their details so please don’t abuse the privilege.
Adopter detailsHi, I’d like to adopt a retired working dog.
About meMy name is Alaina Thompson. You can reach me on: 02108047999 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I live in Pukekawa, north Waikato in our own property. I can walk/exercise a dog and I already have 3 other dogs. The dog is likely to be left alone for 2 hours per day.
EnvironmentI have 3 children under 5 and 1 children 6 and above. At our property, we have 0 cats, 0 chooks, 0 rabbits and 6 sheep.
Details of other animals:
6 horses and a few cows.
We are interested in adopting the following dogs:
A few words about our property:
21 acre property, big porch for the dogs to sleep on during the day. All flat except for one paddock, so easy work when we do need to move the few sheep.
Here is why I think we can provide a good home:
We are experienced dog owners, have little to no work for a retired working dog, just need a hand shifting some sheep occasionally. The kids are all good with dogs and have grown up with them.
My entire male boxer dog can be a bit grumpy with other dogs so we do need to find one who is good with other dogs and he eventually gets over himself. The other two are little fluffy poofters that dont get out much, but they like to think they run the show.
We are home all the time, so the dog will have lots of attention and company. Wether it be out in the paddocks with us or sleeping on the porch in the sun. We are conscious we don’t want anything too young, as I feel we probably won’t have enough work to keep a young dog stimulated.
Please contact me if you think you may have something suitable 😊
