Meet Snow, the Deaf Heading dog with the biggest ears.
Snow, a beautiful and active heading dog, needs a forever home where she can thrive. Despite being fully deaf, Snow has adapted well to pet life and is eager to please. She’s learning sign language and has already mastered “sit,” “shake,” and “lie down.” Her intelligence and willingness to learn make her a joy to be around.
Snow gets along with other dogs, but may feel overwhelmed at times. She’s being fostered with other dogs and is learning valuable social skills. A home with another dog(s) would be ideal, as Snow feels comfortable and can continue to learn from them. She’s a social butterfly and loves the company of her canine friends.
Snow loves kids, but can get overexcited and jump up. With patience and consistent training, she’ll learn to interact with children in a calm and gentle manner. She’s also learning to interact with cats, and while progress has been made, she’ll still need supervision. Her foster family has been working on socialising her with cats, and it’s been amazing to see her grow and learn.
Snow’s ideal home would have:
– Experience with deaf dogs (or an experienced dog owner willing to learn)
– Another dog(s) for companionship and socialisation
– A family who can provide patience, love, and consistent training
– A willingness to continue teaching Snow sign language and social skills
– A secure and safe environment, as Snow can get excited and try to follow sounds she can’t hear
In return, Snow promises to bring joy, love, and adventure into your life! She loves going on walks, swimming, and playing in the backyard. But she’s also happy to curl up on the couch for cuddles and snuggles. Snow is crate and kennel trained, and she’s good in the car, making her the perfect companion for road trips and outings.
If you’re looking for a loyal and loving companion, Snow might be the perfect fit for you. Don’t let her deafness deter you – she’s a smart and adaptable girl who will thrive with the right family.
Snow has been vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated, and is currently registered.
She has an adoption fee of $350 and, as with all of our foster dogs, we’ll require a vet reference and property inspection prior to adoption.
