About Prince:
Prince is a medium-sized, male Heading Dog, aged 8 years old.
Description:Looking at temporarily/permanently re-homing my heading dog Prince, he just turned 8 on the 10th March.
I’m looking at heading overseas towards/at the end of winter and am just putting my feelers out there to get some good candidates with amazing homes for my 2 older boys I’ll be looking at rehoming. I have had both of them since they were 3 months old and I cannot bear to sell them as I am all they have known.
Prince will need to go somewhere where he gets a bit of work, even though he is older he is still keen as anything.
Prince did his medial ligament when he was 2 by getting stomped on by a steer. Due to this injury, he has arthritis in his back right hock. As part of this re-homing, you would be required to upkeep Princes monthly beranza injection ($100 a month I pay at the vets) to help with pain relief in his back leg. As a result of this injection, he has had a new lease on life and acts like a 2 year old again. Due to this injury, Prince kept getting infected toenails on that leg so I ended up getting all his toenail beds removed on that foot, so he has no toenails on his back right leg.
Prince has spent a lot of time inside and gets on well with all the dogs I have.
Prince is one of my best mates and it’s a really hard decision to let him go but I know that there could be an amazing home out there for him to be treated like the prince that he is. Reason for saying temp/permanent rehoming is I’m unsure if I will get back farming when I get back.
Is Prince used to children? Yes.Is Prince used to cats? Don’t know.
Is Prince toilet-trained? Yes.
Is Prince used to stock? Yes.
Is Prince used to chickens? No.
How well does Prince get on with other dogs? Great.
Prince lives in Methven, .
A bit about Prince’s personality:
Prince is a sweet, energetic loyal dog.
He’s spent a lot of time inside with his injury and recoveries from surgery so he is toilet trained.
With both Prince and Jock, I will be quite fussy as these boys have been with me for 8 years and am not looking at a quick rehoming, hence putting up a bit in advance so I can make the right decision
