About Ace:

Ace is a medium-sized, male Heading Dog, 9 years old.

Description:

Looking for a foster home for 12-24 months.

Ace has been my mainstay heading dog for pretty much his whole life, and I absolutely love him to pieces. He was my first ever dog and is the only one I have left after selling the rest to move to the UK, where I am currently still based.

Unfortunately due to doing his ACL he is retiring from working life and has nowhere to go.

Ace has had surgery for his ACL injury and is still in recovery, this means he is not yet allowed to go any work or jump up onto vehicles. He is following a recovery programme which he has almost completed.

Happy to answer any questions, show photos or send videos!

Is Ace used to children? Yes.
Is Ace used to cats? No.
Is Ace toilet-trained? No.
Is Ace used to stock? Yes.
Is Ace used to chickens? Yes.
How well does Ace get on with other dogs? OK.
Ace lives in Blenheim.
A bit about Ace’s personality:

Ace still acts like he’s three years old and even with his injury isn’t looking like he’ll slow down any time soon!

He absolutely loves fetch and going to the beach, or anywhere he can swim after a stick.

Ace probably has dog ADHD but at the same time he loves a pat and some attention.

He’s been around all manner of animals including chickens, horses and cats. He has a very high work drive so he will try to herd other animals but can be told to ‘leave it’.

Ace is fine with children but can get overly excited when fetch is involved and may try to snatch a stick if it’s being waved around.

Would seriously suit someone who wants a companion for walks or a more active lifestyle, or alternatively somewhere where he has some room to run once he’s fully recovered.

He honestly has the most fun personality, he’s extremely intelligent and a super happy dog in general (I once got told he was too happy to be a working dog).
