Meet Chop – The Happy-Go-Lucky Huntaway Pup!

You might remember Chop from when we “fixed his broken heart” well with our supporters help he is now ready to find his forever home.

Chop is a bright, bouncy, and lovable young Huntaway with a huge zest for life! He’s had a great start in foster care and is now ready to find his forever family.

Chop is a friendly boy who gets along well with most other dogs, especially females and desexed males. He’s currently living happily alongside two cats—though he may give chase if a cat runs, so confident, dog-savvy cats are best. He hasn’t met many kids yet, but given his playful puppy energy, a home with older children would suit him best. Chop is curious about cattle, entertained by pigs, and (so far) shows little interest in sheep.

House trained: Mostly! Still the odd accident if not let out quickly in the morning.

Crate & kennel trained: Yes (but he’ll let you know if he feels left out).

Lead training: Knows how to walk on lead but still gets distracted by interesting smells.

Commands: Knows “sit” and “wait” (especially for dinner!), but like any young dog, still needs work on his manners—especially not jumping up when excited.

Chop is an adventurous companion who loves:

– Car rides (especially in the ute canopy)

– The beach

– Running alongside the side-by-side on the farm

– Treats—he’s very food motivated and eager to please!

He’s still learning to be confident on quad bikes and side-by-sides, but with patience, he’ll get there.

Chop still has a grade 2 heart murmur—it doesn’t slow him down one bit, and no follow-up care is currently needed. He’s up to date with vaccinations (including lepto), flea & worm treatments, and is microchipped. Desexing is recommended once he reaches 1 year old.

Chop would thrive in an active home with space to run, plenty of adventures, and people who will continue his training. He’s full of love, fun, and potential—now he just needs the perfect person to help him shine!

Chop has an adoption fee of $350 and, as with all of our foster dogs, we’ll require a vet reference and property inspection prior to adoption. Once proof of desex has been sent through we will refund $200 of the adoption fee.
