About Bella:
Bella is a large, female Huntaway X, aged 1 year old.
Description:Bella is a Huntaway x Labrador, just about to turn one year old. She was a bit of a farm whoopsie, but she’s grown into a lovely, affectionate young dog.
Bella has a stage 3 heart murmur, which means she isn’t suited to long-distance, high-speed running and does tire more quickly than other dogs. However, she still enjoys getting out and about and is very capable of keeping up at a human walking or jogging pace. She’s happiest running or walking alongside rather than racing ahead.
She has grown up with three young children and is very gentle with them. She is still physically in the puppy stage and can be a bit clumsy, occasionally bumping into knees as she learns her body awareness, but she is soft and well-meaning.
She knows a good sit and stay, with no further formal training yet.
Is Bella used to children? Yes.Is Bella used to cats? Yes.
Is Bella toilet-trained? Don’t know.
Is Bella used to stock? Don’t know.
Is Bella used to chickens? No.
How well does Bella get on with other dogs? Great.
Bella lives in Piopio, .
A bit about Bella’s personality:
Bella is energetic, affectionate, and very soft-natured. She loves people and is eager to please, with a gentle, loving temperament despite her youthful enthusiasm.
She enjoys being included in day-to-day farm life and loves going out fencing, where she’ll happily hang around the bike and keep you company rather than needing constant stimulation. She spends time around the house, plays nicely with our other dogs, and just enjoys being near her people.
She hasn’t been trained on stock. While she has shown a little curiosity when visiting the sheds, we haven’t engaged her with stock, so we can’t say whether she would suit working. Given her heart condition and temperament, she is likely better suited as a companion dog rather than a high-intensity working dog.

Reason for Rehoming
Bella is needing a new home as the farm we have been working on has sold, and we are downsizing significantly and unfortunately can’t keep all of our dogs. We are looking for a loving, understanding home that will appreciate her sweet nature and be mindful of her health needs.
