About Lou:

Lou is a large, female Huntaway, aged 7 years old.

Description:

Lou is a gentle giant who is looking for her forever home. Unfortunately, over the last year, she has really struggled to jump making full time farm and yard work hard on her. She has been vet checked and there was nothing they could obviously see wrong. She is missing a toe on her back foot, which was removed after being broken when she was 3 and this may be contributing to her not wanting to push off when jumping due to her size and weight.

She is still a very active dog and has no problems running. Lou is fantastic with children and is such a sweetie (we have a 2 year old and 4 month old), she is fully mat trained so would be fine inside. She is also absolutely fine around cats and shows no interest in them. She is great with other large dogs however, she would not be suitable in a home with little dogs in particular Jack Russells or Fox Terriers. After being constantly barked at and chased by a Jack Russell previously she now has formed a dislike towards the breed.
Lou would suit either a lifestyle or small farm block where she can still enjoy working without the pressure of having to jump all day or a home where she can still be active and go for runs and chase balls.
