A bit about Lassie’s personality:

Lassie started out as a very timid pup, and sometimes still can be around unfamiliar people and situations, therefore a kind and patient home is essential. However, once she gets over her initial fear and gains confidence, she is a very fun and loving dog, and an absolute joy to have around.
Lassie loves playing with other dogs and hanging around with her favourite humans – in fact this is her main motivation for coming to work, rather than for the work itself! She will help out on small jobs in the yards alongside another dog and bark on the hill if needed, as she is very willing to please. That being said, she wouldn’t be fussed if her new home didn’t have any sheep, as she does lack the real drive to work them – the main attraction for her is hanging out with her friends.
Lassie is a clever dog who picks things up quickly and seems to enjoy learning. She has had lovely manners from day one which didn’t really take much training, e.g. walking nicely on a lead. She knows the basics – sit, stay, good recall – as well as some working commands and her favourite trick, shake hands! She loves riding on the bike and in the car. She is not house trained but is very clean in her kennel so wouldn’t be hard to teach. She will be spayed by the time of adoption.
Lassie is a much-loved dog, and it is very reluctantly but with her best interests at heart that I am looking for a new home for her. If you can offer her time, lots of love and space to be herself, and possibly another doggy pal to play with, please do get in touch. Located Central Otago but willing to travel for the perfect home.
