Meet Razz – a bright, capable Kelpie looking for her perfect forever home.

Razz is a 4-year-old Kelpie with all the intelligence, loyalty, and work ethic the breed is known for. She is a highly trainable girl who forms strong bonds with her people and thrives when she has clear guidance and a job to do.

Razz has natural herding instincts and enjoys working stock. While she has not had formal stock training, she shows plenty of potential and could suit a smaller farm, lifestyle block, or dairy farm where her instincts can be put to good use. She may also try to herd chickens or stock if left to her own devices, but she responds well when given direction.

She gets along well with respectful dogs and communicates clearly with those that get a little too pushy. Razz is very responsive to her handler and listens well when asked to disengage. Dog parks are not her scene, but she is perfectly happy around sensible, well-mannered canine companions.

Once Razz bonds with her person, her recall is excellent. She may occasionally need a second call if she’s busy investigating something interesting, but she always comes back. Better yet, bring a tug toy—her absolute favourite thing in the world—and you’ll have her full attention!

Razz is respectful of fencing, loves her kennel, and is a quiet housemate who doesn’t nuisance bark. She will let you know if someone arrives with a brief alert bark and then settles again.

She has not spent much time around children, although we will be assessing this further. Cats are likely not the best fit unless you have a confident, dog-savvy cat and are willing to invest time in careful introductions and management.

While Razz will walk on a lead, she doesn’t particularly enjoy it and can be a little sensitive when being clipped on. Aside from that, she is an easy, straightforward dog to live with.

Razz would suit someone familiar with herding breeds who understands their intelligence, drive, and need for engagement. She is not a dog for a novice owner, but in the right home she will be an incredibly rewarding companion and partner.

If you’re looking for a loyal, clever, trainable Kelpie with plenty of potential, Razz could be the dog you’ve been waiting for.
