Awa is a medium-sized, female Bearded Collie X, aged 2 years old.

Description:

Awa is a failed farm dog, she has no interest in stock and is looking for a pet only home where she is allowed inside. She is a young beardie x with a soft and sensitive nature. She loves to run and chase rabbits, she is learning to come when called. She is calm in the home but will need daily runs to release energy. She digs the occasional hole otherwise. Awa is loved in her current home and this is a difficult decision for her mum. so any new home would need to be perfect!

A bit about Awa’s personality:

Awa is sweet, gentle and loving. She loves to play with other dogs, during play is this the only time she barks. I adopted her from the SPCA where they described her as ‘low energy’ She is very calm in the house and yard but when on walks she is very energetic, she loves to run and is always looking for rabbits to chase. She doesn’t need a huge amount of exercise but she does need to ‘run’ everyday to burn off that energy (30 – 60 minutes is enough, but she loves more) Awa is great with all other dogs, she is calm and respectful. She has shown no interest in ducks, geese or swans so would be fine with chickens. Awa currently lives with 3 cats and is respectful towards them. Awa suffered some abuse in her former home, so needs someone with a calm and gentle energy, who will continue to help her learn in a positive way. She loves people but doesn’t play with them, yet, she is fine around little kids. Awa is very much loved in her current home, the ONLY reason for rehoming is that her energy levels on walks are to much for the other dog in her house, the other dog has joint issues, loves Awa and tries to keep up with her, which is having a detrimental affect on her joints.
