Meet Chop โ€“ The Happy-Go-Lucky Huntaway Pup!

You might remember Chop from when we “fixed his broken heart” well with our supporters help he is now ready to find his forever home.

Chop is a bright, bouncy, and lovable young Huntaway with a huge zest for life! Heโ€™s had a great start in foster care and is now ready to find his forever family.

Chop is a friendly boy who gets along well with most other dogs, especially females and desexed males. Heโ€™s currently living happily alongside two catsโ€”though he may give chase if a cat runs, so confident, dog-savvy cats are best. He hasnโ€™t met many kids yet, but given his playful puppy energy, a home with older children would suit him best. Chop is curious about cattle, entertained by pigs, and (so far) shows little interest in sheep.

House trained: Mostly! Still the odd accident if not let out quickly in the morning.

Crate & kennel trained: Yes (but heโ€™ll let you know if he feels left out).

Lead training: Knows how to walk on lead but still gets distracted by interesting smells.

Commands: Knows โ€œsitโ€ and โ€œwaitโ€ (especially for dinner!), but like any young dog, still needs work on his mannersโ€”especially not jumping up when excited.

Chop is an adventurous companion who loves:

– Car rides (especially in the ute canopy)

– The beach

– Running alongside the side-by-side on the farm

– Treatsโ€”heโ€™s very food motivated and eager to please!

Heโ€™s still learning to be confident on quad bikes and side-by-sides, but with patience, heโ€™ll get there.

Chop still has a grade 2 heart murmurโ€”it doesnโ€™t slow him down one bit, and no follow-up care is currently needed. Heโ€™s up to date with vaccinations (including lepto), flea & worm treatments, and is microchipped. Desexing is recommended once he reaches 1 year old.

Chop would thrive in an active home with space to run, plenty of adventures, and people who will continue his training. Heโ€™s full of love, fun, and potentialโ€”now he just needs the perfect person to help him shine!

ย

Chop has an adoption fee of $350 and, as with all of our foster dogs, weโ€™ll require a vet reference and property inspection prior to adoption. Once proof of desex has been sent through we will refund $200 of the adoption fee.
