About Flick:
Flick is a medium-sized, female Heading Dog, aged 11 years old.
Description:Retired working dog with fireside ambitions:
Flick is an 11 year old heading dog with a successful career as a hill country mainstay under her belt. She has had an incredible life with us, but her body is slowing down and we’d like to see her re-homed for a well earned retirement before the cold winter months set in. Although we’re sure she would love to keep up some light work, Flick has been by far the cuddliest working dog we’ve kept and therefore has amazing pet potential. She would spend all day at your feet for a scratch or a cuddle if she could. She has persisted in trying to convince us she’s an ‘inside dog’ her entire 11 years. Although still in work at the moment, she spends a lot of her day sleeping in the sun and we believe she would easily transition to a slow lifestyle.
Despite being a well mannered old lady she does have a few quirks – she will gently herd things (children, pets) unless you tell her not to, and is used to being the Queen of the pack. She’s been known to put pups in their place when they enter the group.
We’re hoping she can find a loving home that can give her the life of pampering she has always dreamed of!
Is Flick used to cats? Don’t know.
Is Flick toilet-trained? Yes.
Is Flick used to stock? Yes.
Is Flick used to chickens? Yes.
How well does Flick get on with other dogs? Great.
Flick lives in Akaroa, .
A bit about Flick’s personality:
Cuddly, affectionate, eager to please and lives to work! Mostly ignores other dogs in her old age but was very maternal in her youth and will assert herself as the alpha female!
