How well does Fog get on with other dogs? Great. Meet Fog, a 9-month-old Heading Dog with a huge heart and a gentle soul. His life didn’t start easily; at just four months old he suffered a broken femur and spent many weeks under veterinary care. Once healed, he tried life on a working farm, but it turned out farm work wasn’t his passion. Fog is far more interested in friendship than livestock, and
now he’s looking for a home where he can be someone’s loyal companion and have a canine buddy.
Fog is an affectionate, friendly cuddle bug with long supermodel legs, with a touch of clumsy charm. He loves people and dogs alike, forming strong bonds and always wanting to be close. In foster care he has joined agility classes, visited beaches and mountains, and even
waited patiently at the bottom of a rock face while his carer climbed. He’s a fantastic adventure buddy. He enjoys the company of other dogs and is very social. He responds well to commands,
knows “No” and “Sit,” and his recall is good in low distraction environments. A long line is useful in busier places while he finishes developing solid recall.
On Off leash hill walks he stays close, checks in often, and so far hasn’t shown interest in chasing the goats or birds he sees. On lead he walks nicely, though fast-moving cars can worry him; he’s steadily building confidence around traffic.
Fog travels beautifully in the car; he is calm, relaxed, and often lying down quietly. His favourite place, though, is simply “wherever you are.” Whether gardening, feeding chickens, or mowing the lawn, Fog will happily supervise every task. He finds chickens interesting but hasn’t chased them, and he is cautious and respectful around stock. Fog is still a young dog learning about the world, which means the occasional boundary
testing—sometimes resisting going into his kennel and sometimes chewing when bored. He’s a work in progress, but he tries hard and wants to belong to someone who understands him.
Fog is a sweet, sensitive, social young dog ready to give his whole heart to the right home. And honestly—aren’t the best dogs the ones who grow with us?
Fog has been vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated, and is currently registered. He will be on a foster to adopt situation until he is desexed at the age of 10 months.
He has an adoption fee of $350 and, as with all of our foster dogs, we’ll require a vet reference and property inspection prior to adoption.
