About Lou:
Lou is a medium-sized, female Border Collie X, aged 2 years old.
Description:Lou is a two year old failed herding dog who was always too busy sniffing the ground – which leads us to believe she may have some spaniel within her!
She is super friendly and high energy. She knows basic commands (sit, down, come, wait) – but 100% needs more recall training.
In terms of toileting she doesn’t get to roam the house due to loving ripping things apart (we only get her sturdy silicone toys/rope toys for this reason) so she is either outside or inside in her crate (therefore she is crate trained and sleeps in there overnight), but she has always been good about letting us know if she needs/wants to go outside.
She gets along with our two toddlers and our cat – although the cat isn’t particularly interested in the friendship.
She is microchipped and desexed – but is due for a vaccination which we would get her before passing her along.
Lou has some skin/dietary issues – the vet was unsure whether it was due to flora & fauna in our yard or food related so we are currently trialling a different food. But further investigation may be required if it doesn’t let up. However she 100% cannot eat fatty red meat/pork/smoked bones etc as it upsets her bowels.
Our reasons for rehoming her:
We simply do not have the time or finances to keep her and give her the life she deserves. She would thrive within a lifestyle block where she has a lot of land to explore or someone who can commit to taking her for multiple long walks per week and vice versa.
We will happily give the crate, kennel and any of her blankets/toys/bowls etc to the person who ends up being her new owner.
