Louie is a beautiful 2-year-old Border Collie searching for his forever home. Intelligent, well-mannered, and deeply loyal, Louie has made remarkable progress during his time in foster care and is now ready to find a family of his own.
Louie has a lovely level of energy and enjoys his daily runs, play sessions, and social time with other dogs. He forms strong bonds with his people and thrives when he can be involved in day-to-day life — happily tagging along and being part of the team. He has excellent recall, is responsive to direction, and has come a long way in confidence over the past three months in foster care.
When Louie first arrived, he was very timid and fearful, particularly of men and children (approximately 4 years and older). With patient, positive exposure, he has learned that people are safe and is now comfortable around them. Ongoing mindfulness and gentle handling will be important to ensure his confidence continues to grow.
Louie loves playing ball and often carries his toys around with pride. He is exceptionally gentle with smaller dogs and has a close bond with a small dog in his foster home. Their play — including tug-of-war — is always calm and respectful, with Louie carefully moderating his strength.
True to his breed, Louie has a natural herding instinct. He may step in calmly when other dogs become too boisterous, using quiet presence rather than any vocalisation or physical correction. He has even been known to gently shepherd younger dogs back to their mats.
Louie would suit a home where he can be a true companion — potentially as a workmate for a tradie, a dog who can accompany someone to the office, or an active household where he can be included in daily routines. He settles well indoors and is happy to relax and wait patiently between walks and activities.
Louie is a gentle, intelligent, and affectionate dog who will thrive in a calm, understanding home that values connection and consistency. He is ready to offer loyalty, companionship, and a beautiful partnership to the right family.
Louie has been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated, and is currently registered.
He has an adoption fee of $350 and, as with all of our foster dogs, we’ll require a vet reference and property inspection prior to adoption.
