About Paddington:
Paddington is a medium-sized, male Heading Dog, aged 1 year old.
Description:This beautiful dog has been part of our lives since he was born in March 2024. He is an Amberley House progeny, who are known for being keen and clever.
Sharp as a tack and eager to be a “Good Dog” he is Joy, Enthusiasm and Happiness in a dog’s body.
Paddington (Padders) adores hugs, is filled with energy and is an exceptional traveller, snoozing quietly in the boot.
Paddington is exceptional with other dogs (he’s playful and submissive). We don’t think he would suit a home with cats or small children, as he can get over-excited by both, which can make him anxious. There’s not a bad bone in this dog though – absolutely no bite.
He takes his current rabbit control job very seriously and is already showing signs that he could be incredible at working sheep (with training – which we lack experience in).
Paddington is crate trained and rapidly learning basic commands – with recall a particular speciality. He completes every request at 150% but is exceptionally good at relaxing in between.
We don’t think he would be a full-time working dog thanks to three additional vertebrae in his spine which means that he is on long-term pain killers, but he would be perfect for working stock on a smaller lifestyle block, an obedience dog or possibly even search and rescue (he brings us gifts all the time on command).
Paddington has been in the care of Amberley Vets since we bought him, and he attended puppy school there for early socialisation. It’s on their recommendation that we share his story in the hope of finding a new, loving home for him.
Is Paddington used to children? Yes.Is Paddington used to cats? Don’t know.
Is Paddington toilet-trained? Yes.
Is Paddington used to stock? Yes.
Is Paddington used to chickens? No.
How well does Paddington get on with other dogs? Great.
Paddington lives in Amberley, .
A bit about Paddington’s personality:
Paddington is the kindest, friendliest and lickiest dog you could ever wish to meet! He oozes enthusiasm and is desperate to be a Good Dog and given a job that he can complete at 150%.
