About Stevie:

Stevie is a large, female Maremma, aged 3 years old.

Description:

Stevie is 3 and a half and 37kgs at latest weigh-in. She is fully healthy and has been fed on a raw diet for most of her life. She has not been able.to integrate into living in town despite best efforts to train and support her breed specific needs. She needs to be on a farm or lifestyle block with very experienced dog owners and preferably experience with maremmas or other LGD breeds. She is well house trained and knows a lot of commands and a few tricks that keep her engaged while on walks. We’ve done extensive training to overcome reactivity however have not managed to keep her calm due to too much going on around the urban property.

Is Stevie used to children? No.
Is Stevie used to cats? Yes.
Is Stevie toilet-trained? Yes.

Stevie lives in Wairarapa, .
A bit about Stevie’s personality:

Stevie is a beautiful loving young dog but isn’t suitable for living in a town with neighbour’s. As a maremma she has high stranger discernment but when she knows they are welcome is super affectionate to adults. She has not spent much time with children. Unfortunately an early incident with a flying cartwheel kick to the head put her off small children and is still nervous around them. With more support, age and slow training she could overcome this fear. She had similar incidents with a couple of rogue dogs and a bike which has made her reactive to some dogs (not all) and cyclists. However her reactivity isnt consistent and sometimes she can handle herself, other times she cant. I think once she is in a more calm rural environment with confident owners she will be able to handle more. She would be best suited to living with other mature and relaxed dogs to give her support in this respect.
