🐾 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞 is a lovely 10 year old Heading dog who has been his owners main man and has run many miles for him. 💓 But after a incident with a bull and father time catching up, he is looking for a home where he can enjoy the finer things in life. He doesnt really like groups of dogs, hes more of a loyal one person dog. He would love to assist in your garden or doing a farm tour but unsure about the chickens ☺️𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨 𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/blade-tarras/

Rua is a lovely natured older Huntaway ready for retirement, he enjoys spending his time relaxing in the sun or on the back porch. Although he is 10 he still enjoys the odd light job so would therefore suit a lifestyle block.Rua has a delightful nature. Hes a master of relaxation, content on the back porch and enjoys the quiet life. However, when its time for work or play, he transforms into an energetic companion, ready for action. His excitement is infectious, especially when unleashed, as he announces his joy with enthusiastic barks.Contact his owner via the link below:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/rua-christchurch/

Meet Billy, our much-loved old mate living out his retirement with our fosterer Aunty Karen 🥰. Billy is 11 years old, found roaming off farm in Marton and picked up by the pound. Hes been in care with us since December 2024. We really thought he wouldnt make it this long - he needs a special diet that our lovely Coprice sponsor cant cover, ongoing meds and vet consultations regularly - but he has done a complete 180 from that first day and is living his last years best years. He came to us with really bad kennel sores - most likely lived a long time just in his kennel, probably because he had slowed down at work. Theyre better now and hes swapped kennel for the house life but his favourite place is on the quad or walking the lane ways with the horses. Billy’s health (and quirks!) mean he can’t be rehomed, so we’ve made a promise that for his last years he’ll always be warm, loved, and pain-free. His specialist medication and food cost us $2,500 each year—so we’re inviting 25 kind friends to join Billy’s extended family as sponsors, each donating $100 annually. In return, you’ll get regular ‘Billy Bulletins,’ official recognition as part of his family, and that warm glow from making a real difference. To join Billy’s pack please donate via this link: https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/product/billys-pack/If you cant have a dog in your home, have a dog in your heart xx🐾

Meet beautiful Star who is an 11 month old Heading pup who is unfortunately not going to work out as a working dog. She has a lovely nature, very loyal, and gets along with other dogs really well and would make a lovely pet for an active family, lifestyle block would be ideal. She has call back and sit. Good on and off a lead. She is stock proof as she will just sit at your feet in a paddock of sheep or cattle. Doesnt wander, as will let her out for an hour each day round the house with the other dogs and she wont leave the house section.Contact her owners via the link below for more info:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/star-te-anau-2/

Dear Facebook friends, please read this post and share it far and wide. Lucy has been in foster for 407 days. Its too long for such a loving dog to be without a family. 8 year old Lucy is as sweet as they come and absolutely loves people and other dogs. We want to be upfront about her needs so we find her the perfect home:🪜Must have a secure deer or iron-fenced yard — no wooden railings! Lucy can climb a 6ft wooden fence, so a solid fence is a must to keep her safe.🏡A strong kennel and secure run are needed for times when she’s left alone.Who Lucy would love to live with:👉She needs a home with a dog-savvy owner who understands she’ll chase small running animals — so she must be leashed or supervised carefully around rabbits, cats, or other small pets. She has walked past a cat in the lounge but lets be honest, she may not have seen it!👉Someone to take her on long runs and adventures - she’s hung up her hunting boots but is still full of energy and ready to be be a hiking buddy.Shes toilet trained indoors and good in her crate. She walks well on a slip lead and is excellent on pack walks. She plays beautifully with other dogs but if another dog starts trouble, Lucy will stand her ground. She would thrive in a home with a canine companion who can keep up with her energetic playstyle. Shes respectful of grumpy older dogs and will leave them alone if theyre not interested in playing. She has been good around stock she has been by. Lucy’s current foster can keep her until December but wants to ensure Lucy goes to a home that suits her adventurous spirit and safety needs. The ideal home for Lucy would be a townhouse with a secure high fenced section. If you have a secure home and a big heart for this lively, loving girl, please get in touch. Lucy’s ready to give endless love — if only she had a safe place to call home. Help us find her home!NO ADOPTION FEE (she comes spay, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated, and registered). Vet reference and property inspection required.🥰For more pics or to apply for Lucy to join YOUR family click the link: https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/rwdnz-foster-dog-lucy-palmerston-north/
