📣RWD is recruiting for a Trustee!

Do you know someone who's active in the farming ecosystem (e.g., as a farmer, shepherd, or similar role) who might be keen to join us to represent and promote the charity within the farming community? We want our new Trustee to help encourage more farmers to use our services and advocate for the welfare of retired working dogs.

Tell them to send their expression of interest outlining background, experience, and motivation for joining Retired Working Dogs NZ as a Trustee to president@retiredworkingdogs.org.nz

Yes its voluntary, yes it's remote and YES it's the best mahi you could imagine - a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both rural communities and animal welfare while contributing expertise as part of a dedicated team.

Pearl is a 2-year-old Huntaway mix with a black and tan coat, exhibiting characteristics of both a beardie and a Huntaway. Her fur is wiry.

She has shown some interest in working with livestock and could potentially become a skilled working dog with the right owner. Alternatively, she would make a wonderful pet.

Pearl has a unique behavior; she often runs back to her kennel when taken out for a run with other dogs. While she is friendly and will come when called for a pat, she seems to have a strong preference for being in her kennel.

To thrive, Pearl would greatly benefit from someone who can provide her with more one-on-one time and training.

Oh my goodness Retired Working Dogs NZ Charitable Trust she is Alfie and Mo reincarnated, along with Harris for good measure. Harris got retired at 18 months for exactly the same reason, "I'm going home now".

My beardie cross is very timid she’s not interested in other dogs she loves the security of her home in a residential suburb and is enjoying learning dog agility and having 2 walks a day her best mate is a chihuahua cross old boy and she has a few mates she’s not social she loves people

Oh wow she’s so like my gorgeous elderly dog I lost 3.5 years ago. She was border collie x foxie x lab.
