Tex is a gorgeous, friendly and gentle lad. Hes a 1 year old Heading dog who has loads of energy and loves daily exercise. Unfortunately he’s not a natural and doesn’t show any interest in wanting to work stock yet. This is tricky for his owner who is only learning to train a working dog so needs a more responsive & willing student so sadly, Tex must move on to a loving new home, perhaps to a more experienced trainer or more time for Tex to click. He enjoys playing with children, socializing with other dogs and he’s been brought up with chickens. Hi, I’m Tux – Your New Best Friend in the Making! 🐾I’m a 1-year-old Heading Dog X with a heart full of love and legs made for adventure! Right now, I’m living with my awesome fosterer and they’ve helped me grow into a happy, confident, and clever pup. I’m ready to find my forever home – could that be with you?I’m a medium-sized girl with loads of energy, and I love to play! Whether it’s chasing toys, wrestling with doggy friends, or running alongside you on the trails, I’m all in. I’ve been socialised with over 100 dogs (yes, really!) and I get along with all of them. I’m also great with kids, especially older ones who know how to give me space when I need it.The best part? I’ve had an amazing start with a professional dog trainer as my fosterer, and they’re keen to keep supporting my transition into your home. ✔ Great with dogs & kids (prefer older/dog-savvy ones) ✔Toilet trained✔ Crate trained✖️ Not suited for homes with chickens and a cat home, Id need boundaries in place.So... what do you think? Are you ready to add a fun-loving, loyal, and snuggly friend to your life? I can’t wait to meet you! 🐶Love, Tux📍 Fostered in Palmerston North💉 Desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to bring joy to your home!Find out more about her here: https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/rwdnz-foster-dog-tux-palmerston-north/Want to adopt Tux?Fill out an adoption application here: https://form.jotform.com/adoptionsrwd/ADOPTIONAPP

Nyla is a Beardie/huntaway, 6 years old. She has lived on a large lifestyle block most of her life, has a lovely nature and will do anything to please. She has sides, walk up, sit and stop commands in whistle and voice. She has been introduced to dog trials so can work sheep or cattle. Unfortunately she has not turned out to be that successful at dog trialing and we have other dogs that are getting most of the attention. Nyla would suit a home on a similar lifestyle block where she can do some work and get the love and attention of a new family.Contact her owner below:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/nyla-kerikeri/

Heading dog x gsp x lab pups, 3 months old, looking for their forever homes.Great pups from an accidental litter, great with little kids and other animals. Full of beans, sweet, gentle and absolute characters but also rough as gut pups that don’t mind rough and tumble from the bigger dogs. They are born to their owners semi retired main heading dog and a gsp lab (duck hunting dog) so the pups have tons of potential for working, They try to herd out lambs and are now attempting to copy the working dogs with running to catch up trying to sneak on the quad or in the ute. Go into their kennels at night so definitely smart pups.https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/pups-motueka/

May is a sweet friendly dog, she enjoys life whatever she is doing. She is 11 years old now and has been working on farms all her life and enjoys her job. Still has mustering and yard work left in her but best on a smaller block now due to her age. She is very easy to have around, still jumps up on the bike but needs a bit of help to get on the ute. Her owner would love her to go to a farm where she can still be useful or as a companion dog.Contact via the link below:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/may-middlemarch/

📌Yellow is out on trial🙏Yellow is a sweet young Huntaway X, 1 year old. Shes a happy little dog but would rather hang out in the yard with the two retired dogs than coming to work. She is interested in stock but if she thinks she’s right she would rather run home than being told what to do, which is cute and funny but not really appropriate when trying to work. One of the older dogs pushed her off the buggy, so since then she’s not a fan of the buggy and won’t go anywhere near it. Yellow loves walking with her mum and dad in the evenings. Good on the lead,Contact her owners below:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/yellow-ashhurst/
