Description:

Nelson is a 22 month old Border Collie, brought up in Dunedin now living with us in Auckland. Beautiful with lots of great qualities. He is a resource guarder and suits a solo owner. It is difficult to be clear with this form – he loves children but he has shown aggression in situations where he is guarding a female owner. Never shown aggression to children but the potential might be there. Has not shown aggression to cats that he grew up with

How well does Nelson get on with other dogs? Great.
Nelson lives in Auckland, North Island.
A bit about Nelson’s personality:

He’s very friendly – you will see him wag his whole body at you and smile. He is a little bit excitable but will calm down after a few minutes. He loves to play and knows some good commands. He is well toilet trained – no problems there. Takes some time to get used to vehicles but so long as there is ample room he’ll be okay. The main problem is resource guarding of a female to a male. He’s tried two homes – his original owners (a couple) and an attempt to rehome with another couple. But the resource guarding was there at both homes. Therefore we are certain he requires a solo owner and on a lifestyle block or farm would be ideal.
