About Peter:
Peter is an entire, medium-sized, male Huntaway, aged 9 years old.
Description:Peter retired off the farm in December and unfortunately, we need to rehome him because we’ve moved to a new property in town and making it secure for a dog will take considerable time due to our current situation. I’d rather not have to move Peter on, but after much consideration, we’ve concluded it’s the best thing for him.
Peter would suit a lifestyle property where he can stretch his legs, and he’d do well with another dog or two as he’s quite social. He’s a kind, quiet dog who loves being around his boss.
Is Peter used to children? Yes.Is Peter used to cats? Yes.
Is Peter toilet-trained? Yes.
Is Peter used to stock? Yes.
Is Peter used to chickens? Yes.
How well does Peter get on with other dogs? Great.
Peter lives in Taupō, .
A bit about Peter’s personality:
Peter is very quiet and didn’t do well as a working dog unless he had another dog to follow. He’s always been quite timid but has come out of his shell more recently. He’s great with kids and loves socialising with other dogs.
He loves our evening walks after work, enjoys pats and being around his people, but he’s also happy chilling out at home while we’re at work – he just sleeps on the lawn under a tree.
We let him inside when we’re home and he’s never had an accident. We usually put him outside at bedtime, but on the odd evening he’s stayed inside, he’s been perfectly well-behaved.
He only does little barks when he’s excited; otherwise, he’s really quiet and calm – a great dog for a family.
