***RWD Foster Dog***
Through no fault of her own, Tess is once again looking for a forever home.
This big, gorgeous girl is looking for a home with a job/purpose. The longer we have had her in foster, the more we have got to know what makes her happy, and Tess needs a purpose in life. So we are searching for a special kind of working home that can meet both her mental and physical needs.
Tess is a 12 month old female beardie from working parents. She has a great nature and loves to please, she’s also a smoocher and will follow you anywhere. Tess is very responsive and learns quickly.
It’s clear that Tess would love to do what she is bred for, however she has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. While it’s not the worst we have seen, it is present, so we need to find her a flat farm where she is not the mainstay dog, and she can work as much as she wants to and then have a rest if needed. Alternatively, a pet home that can give Tess lots of appropriate exercise and play, and let her use her brain with obedience training etc.
A dairy farm would be another option for Tess, she would love to cruise behind (or on) the bike and be out and about with her person during the day.
Tess has met cats and is curious but shows no aggression. If a cat ran away she would most likely chase it for fun.
Tess loves children, she has been in foster around children ranging from 1-12 years and is very smoochy, She’s a big girl though and still clumsy, so may suit bigger children better.
Tess is a very confident dog, she is fine around all people and enjoys a good snuggle. Tess travels well in the car and does not jump fences that we have seen (including standard farm fencing).
Tess has had no formal training around stock and her recall can be a bit hit and miss when she is sidetracked by sheep!
Tess is speyed, vaccinated, microchipped and registered, and has an adoption fee of $250. As with all of our foster dogs, vet and council references and a property inspection are required before adoption.

We have added this facility to help volunteers when preparing displays, leaflets or flyers. You can now print any "Dog for adoption" ads in a standardised format, that gets the main information across. If you have any questions about using or improving this facility, please get in touch.
