About Tex:
Tex is a medium-sized, male Kelpie, aged 4-years-old.
Description:Hi, I’m Tex. I’m a playful and keen to please 4-year-old kelpie cross that looks much more like a huntaway!
I live on a farm in Hastings.
I’m certainly a playful boy!
First thing in the morning, I have a wrestle with my sister.
We’re up on our back legs, front feet in the air. It’s quite a sight to see!
My farmer says I’m “lovely natured” but a real “goofball.”
My favourite thing in the world is RUNNING!
I can run 50 kilometres per hour for well over a kilometre! I’m the fastest dog my farmer’s seen in a long while!
I don’t even get up on the bike to save my legs. I MUST run alongside it!
Sadly, when it comes to farm work, I lack the natural ability with stock.
My farmer has never been able to get me to bark at cattle.
I just don’t engage with them.
I tend to “mill around in the wrong place, trying to be helpful” he says.
That’s okay though. I can safely say I’m 100% stockproof!
Since I don’t have the passion to work the farm, my farmer’s hoping to find me a loving pet home – with plenty of space to stretch my long legs!
I’m used to free ranging on a full-sized farm but my farmer thinks I’d even make a great running buddy in a town home.
I’d also be fine living as an only dog or sharing is ok too!
I’m not interested in status. I just slot in with other doggies.
I’m great round people! I’ve never shown any aggression to children or other animals either. I’m just a gentle, sweet boy.
I’m not an overly needy kind of guy either. I’m happy mooching round on my own.
I don’t really seek a lot of attention. I’ve never been pampered, so I don’t know what I’m missing yet!
I haven’t met chickens, but based on my lovely personality, my farmer doesn’t think they’d be a problem for me.
I am, however, very interested in rabbits. They’re fun to sniff out round the place!
My farmer wanted me to let you know that I’m up to date with my vaccinations but I’m not fixed.
So if you’re looking for a spirited speed demon – with a truly lovely nature – I could be the perfect man for you!
