Tania’s on Country Calendar

posted in: News 0

We are so excited to announce that one of our amazing foster ladies, Tania, will be on “Country Calendar” this weekend!

Tania and her family live on a drystock farm in Ohakune, and have the perfect set-up to look after farm dogs until they can be re-homed. Tania has been with RWD for two years, and around twenty dogs have passed through her care. In Tania’s own words, homeless dogs (and cats, and horses!) just seem to find her.

“The biggest reward”, she says, “is the joy in meeting the wonderful people who adopt these dogs, and seeing how happy the farmers are when their old dogs can relax into the retirement they deserve”.

Keep an eye out for Jake, who is working in the yards. He was a young dog with no name, who was unclaimed at the pound.  Under Tania’s care, he quickly showed great potential and has now gone on to work on a hill country farm.

Please share so we can get the message out about the amazing work undertaken by people like Tania!
