Meet lovely Poppy, a 5 year old Huntaway X .Poppy started life as a pet before coming to her current owner for training and now has a full set of commands. Sadly she is starting to develop some stiffness in her hips and is no longer suited to the hill country life. Ideally she would now suit a lifestyle block or dairy farm where there is still stock work for her. She has had a vet check and aside from her hip issue is in perfect health. The vets recommended keeping her active to ensure she does not become too stiff. She is very sweet natured and loves to spend time with you and have pats.Contact her owner via the link below:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/poppy-christchurch/

Lovely Beau is a medium-sized, female Huntaway, aged 4 years old.She has a slight bow in her front leg which happened when she was a pup but doesn’t cause her any problems now.Beau is a very nice natured dog, would be an awesome pet or potential working dog on a lifestyle block. For more info on Beau, contact her owner via the link below:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/beau-alexandra/

Her name says it all. Shy is a female Huntaway, aged 4 years old. A timid personality, but is ok around the right people. She would warm to a gentle person. Shy needs a one on one companion and a loving secure home to give her confidence and bring out her potential. She would suit a lifestyle block as she is a huntaway after all.For more info on Shy, contact her owner via the link below:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/shy-alexandra/

Johnny is a gorgeous boy with long legs and a big heart. 1 year old. Currently with the Whakatane SPCA team who think he may be a lurcher/collie mix but this is just their best guess. He is friendly and smart and will make a great companion for someone with an active lifestyle. He is playful with other dogs and may be useful for working stock as he likes to try and herd the volunteers when they walk him.Alternatively Johnny would love any other job if it meant getting out and about doing something.Contact Gemma via the link below:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/johnny-whakatane/

This is Spy, a 3 year old Border Collie X. Spy is a true working dog. Needs a job to do, loyal, always watching what youre doing. Due to a change in circumstances with a job working six months of the year overseas, his owner is looking for a more stable home for Spy. He would suit life with another female dog with lots of energy. Currently living in urban Nelson, Spy does well, tramping and trail runs and kept active, so hes always stimulated. He walks 95% of the time lead free in the hills and trails around Nelson, and he always stays close. Would be good if his new home was an active household. Spy is curious and keen to learn new things. Hes VERY interested in stock and would need some experienced handling around sheep, cattle, horses. if anyone had experience with dog herding training, Spy would be stubborn, hard work, but a capable herding dog student.Contact Spys owner via the link below:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/spy-nelson/
