About Flick:
Flick is a medium-sized, male Hunting – Pig Dog, aged 10 years old.
Description:Hi, I’m Flick. I’m 10 and I live in Central Otago.
I was once top dog – the natural leader in our team of five hunters.
Sadly though, I became injured and had to have my front right leg amputated.
Now, I’m busy adjusting to my new lifestyle as a tripod.
It’s not all bad. I’m adapting quite well actually.
I still get to do my favourite things… like playing fetch.
When I was younger, I was full-on. Now, I’m more of a chilled-out dude – happy to just cruise.
I’m grateful for the little things in life.
Just chuck me a bone or a ball and I’m a happy guy!
Now that my age is in the double digits, my owner thinks I’d be happiest embracing a quieter pace.
He’s hoping to find me a loving new home, with plenty of space, where I can just chill out and cruise around.
My owner says he’ll miss me very much. I’ve worked hard, he says, and I need to enjoy taking it easy now.
I’d be happy enough just tagging along with you, to the shop, to run some errands.
Short walks are good for me. They help keep my remaining front leg active.
Plus, I love my food… so I’m quite a chunky boy that puts weight on easily.
Being a tripod, there’s still heaps of things I can enjoy!
I’m all about embracing the simple things in life.
I love spending time with people – especially kids!
When I’m feeling like being adored, I’ll come sit on your feet and wait for pats.
Swimming is GREAT and I love playing fetch in the water too!
And, at the end of a busy day, nothing beats lying down and getting a good belly rub!
I’ve always lived outside. One of my favourite things to do is laze around, baking in the sun!
Most recently, we’ve been living in town and, my owner says, I’m an impressively quiet dog.
I tend to only bark when I’m being barked at.
I’d be best in a fully fenced section, in my new home, so I can learn my boundaries easily.
I’ve met cats and I’ve been fine, but I’ve never lived in a house with one.
Oh, and I must let you know that I’m fixed.
When I move to my new home, my owner says he’d love to hear updates on how I’m doing and settling in.
To ensure you and I are the perfect fit, he’d like to trial me in my new place first.
So if you love swimming, knawing on bones and baking away in the hot sun, I could be the chilled-out guy you’re looking for!
