About Coco:
Coco is a medium-sized, female Huntaway X, aged 3 years old.
Description:Hi, I’m Coco. I’m a 3-year-old female huntaway smithfield cross.
I live in Waiuku with my dad, and my best friend Dixie – who you’ll also find here.
I’m the boisterous natural leader of the two. I’ll even make roo roo sounds and I have a beautiful smile.
A unique bundle of energy, I just love affection and keeping my mind busy!
I’m quite inquisitive. I never want to miss out on ANY fun to be had!
I’m fascinated by the simple things in life too – like shadows and bright lights. I’ll fixate on them!
I always have plenty on my day’s to-do list!
When dad’s on the phone and the light’s reflecting on the ceiling, I’ll be chasing it!
Last week, there were white butterflies around, so I was very focused on those – bouncing round trying to catch them!
If I see a fly, I’ll sit and stalk it. Then, I’ll pounce forward and try and squash it.
I’m working on my technique. I always miss it!
Originally, Dixie and I lived with our mum, and the family’s children too, on a 6-acre property.
Sadly, their marriage ended and we’ve had to move to a much smaller place, which has been hard on the two of us.
You see, my dad works long hours and we’re home together a lot, without the human company and our kids, which we miss.
And with me, being such a multi-tasker and all, it’s especially hard.
The other day, dad and I had a chat.
He says he’d like to find me a loving new home.
A place with plenty of space for me to stretch my legs and maybe explore my natural talents!
You see, I have the potential to work with stock. I used to live with sheep and I was fine round them.
I very much enjoy rounding up Dixie when she’s playing fetch with dad, so he says sheep might be better!
I’m also an incredibly fast runner. Dad calls me his “little rocket.”
I have great recall too!
Dad says, compared to Dixie, I’m very food driven.
In fact, he says, I’m an “absolute guts” with the stuff!
I’m ultra easy to train and very smart.
And I channel that talent into the most important things.
Like opening doors round the house to sneak in and steal my food before dinner time!
Ok, so, I may be a thief, but I’m the sweetest girl and that makes up for it!
When dad gets home from work, I’ll nuzzle up and put my paw on him.
I love just sitting near my people and being around them.
And, just like Dixie, I’ll never pass up the opportunity for a tummy rub!
I’m great when meeting strangers too!
My dad thinks I’d be fine sharing my home with other canines. I always make friends when we’re out and about.
Like Dixie, I haven’t met cats before, so not sure how I’d be living with one.
Dad wanted me to let you know that I’m both spayed and micro-chipped.
While I do feel a bit sad to be leaving my family, I know they have my best interests at heart.
And I’m looking forward to finding a place where I can use my unique set of skills.
So, if you’re looking for a white-butterfly-chasing, fly-catching, laugh-a-minute bundle of fun – that could also be quite a help round the place – I might be the ideal girl for you!
