Rio is still looking for his forever home! How could you not want this boy? So well behaved, never questions your directions!Prime example here “on your bed Rio”-at least his butt is touching the bed 🤣Jokes aside, this boy has had all the hard work done with him, he’s got his basic commands nailed (like 98% of the time), he loves to go out for runs alongside the push bike and he loves his person unconditionally. You can see he has a lot of personality and keeps life interesting by occasionally pushing the boundaries. If you’re looking for an adventure buddy and a best mate, please get in touch ❤️🐾https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/rio-feilding/

This month we celebrate 10 years of Retired Working Dogs!10 years since an old heading dog named Tod came home with me and changed my life.He also changed the lives of so many other working dogs, because he was the inspiration for this charity. Thanks old boy, you were a legend and will never be forgotten ❤️A huge thank you to all of the RWD volunteers who have grown this idea into what we are today, hours of their time, lots of love and tears and passion went into this. You are all superstars and this wouldn’t be possible without you 🙏💕. Thanks to our sponsors, Coprice, Totally Vets Ltd, Avalon Marketing and Website Design and all of the others (for a full list please see our website!) we couldn’t do this without your generous support.Thank you to all of you for liking, sharing, and giving these incredible dogs the best retirement homes ❤️🐾And finally to the farmers whose dogs we help to rehome, you are awesome and we know it’s never an easy decision! Thanks for giving these dogs the chance to find a cosy spot by the fire. Here’s to another 10 years!Nat and all of the RWD team x

Hi everybody, just a reminder that we find working breed dogs new homes – we are not a buy and sell page. Only our foster dogs (and dogs listed on behalf of other rescue organisations) have an adoption fee, to cover their vet checks, de-sexing (where appropriate), microchips, vaccinations and flea / worm treatments. We list on behalf of owners looking to re-home dogs without fees being charged (help with transport costs is fine). Please let us know if you are asked to pay a fee for a dog listed on behalf of the owner so we can remove the listing.

Beautiful Nell is still looking for the right family.✅ A quiet rural home✅ Another calm, older dog for company or a person home a lot✅ Space to run and play at her home and daily exercise ✅ Kind, patient owners who will understand that while she may not bond with you instantly, once she trusts you she will be super loving and loyal. If you think you could give Nell an amazing home, we would love to hear from you ❤️🙏🐾https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/nell-hastings/
Nell is still looking for a home, the longer we have had this beautiful girl the more we have come to understand what works and doesn’t for her.She is looking for an active person who is home a fair amount of the time. A rural home, preferably without small children. She would love a calm and sensible older dog who would play with her if she wanted, and teach her about life. Nell does not instantly connect with new people, she needs time to build a relationship and trust you before showing how special she is ❤️If you have some space, like to get out walking, a peaceful home, a lot of love and are willing to be patient with her, Nell will be absolutely worth the wait ❤️🐾https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/nell-hastings/
Rio is still looking for his awesome new humans! He’d love an active home, big kids or just adult humans, and would be fine as an only dog.Rio is a very clever boy and learns quickly! He can be cheeky and push boundaries if he’s allowed, so although he’s lovely we would like experienced dog owners for him.He doesn’t like to be at home alone and bored, so someone who works from home or is open to daycare during the week would be perfect. How could you resist his goofy face? ❤️🐾https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/rio-feilding/
