Here are some of the forty+ furry faces who found new homes in June. If you've got room in your life, home and heart for a new friend we've got nearly fifty dogs of all ages looking for furever homes: https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/
UPDATE: we’ve had an overwhelming response to May’s ad, thanks everyone! Please bear with us while we work on getting back to you all ❤️We can’t believe that May still hasn’t found her forever home. This girl is so lovely! She’s great with all other animals-cats, dogs, horses, chooks, deer, pigs…Loves kids ❤️Would really love a rural home and someone home a bit, or a dog buddy to keep her company during the day.https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/may-raetihi/
Hi everybody, just a reminder that we find working breed dogs new homes – we are not a buy and sell page. Only our foster dogs (and dogs listed on behalf of other rescue organisations) have an adoption fee, to cover their vet checks, de-sexing (where appropriate), microchips, vaccinations and flea / worm treatments. We list on behalf of owners looking to re-home dogs without fees being charged (help with transport costs is fine). Please let us know if you are asked to pay a fee for a dog listed on behalf of the owner so we can remove the listing.

Beautiful Nell is still looking for the right family.✅ A quiet rural home✅ Another calm, older dog for company or a person home a lot✅ Space to run and play at her home and daily exercise ✅ Kind, patient owners who will understand that while she may not bond with you instantly, once she trusts you she will be super loving and loyal. If you think you could give Nell an amazing home, we would love to hear from you ❤️🙏🐾https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/nell-hastings/
Nell is still looking for a home, the longer we have had this beautiful girl the more we have come to understand what works and doesn’t for her.She is looking for an active person who is home a fair amount of the time. A rural home, preferably without small children. She would love a calm and sensible older dog who would play with her if she wanted, and teach her about life. Nell does not instantly connect with new people, she needs time to build a relationship and trust you before showing how special she is ❤️If you have some space, like to get out walking, a peaceful home, a lot of love and are willing to be patient with her, Nell will be absolutely worth the wait ❤️🐾https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/nell-hastings/
Rio is still looking for his awesome new humans! He’d love an active home, big kids or just adult humans, and would be fine as an only dog.Rio is a very clever boy and learns quickly! He can be cheeky and push boundaries if he’s allowed, so although he’s lovely we would like experienced dog owners for him.He doesn’t like to be at home alone and bored, so someone who works from home or is open to daycare during the week would be perfect. How could you resist his goofy face? ❤️🐾https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/rio-feilding/

Sage hasn’t had much luck in finding the right fit for him yet, so we are helping to interview homes and work on a good match for this beautiful boy.If you are an experienced dog owner, happy to put a little time into setting some boundaries and furthering basic training, love to go out running/walking/cycling, and need a canine sidekick for your weekend adventures, then Sage would love to hear from you.A very good boy who would love to be your best boy ❤️🐾https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/sageion-sage-upper-hutt/

We love hearing what the doggos get up to in their new lives. We just had an update about Cruze"Cruze has found a new job post farming, mascot for St Paul’s collegiate 1st XV.Loves the attention and a big bark up when the crowd gets going.Boarder boys like having a farm dog hanging around, not so keen an a sneaky lick when they are doing their stretches."
One of our amazing community members sent us through this special photo of RWD alumni, Rock, being read a (very cool) book by his favourite person 💕 Rock gave his adopted family a health scare recently but has bounced back better and stronger - proving there’s still lots of life left in all the dogs we help rehome here.If you are looking for a loyal addition to your family, check out our current listings on our website 🐾

Keep an eye on the FB post of your dog and answer questions.2. Please, please, please let us know when your dog finds a home, the more current our information, the more people will trust us when looking for a dog.3. List your dog with a great photograph and a comprehensive description including anything a prospective adopter might need or want to know.4. Your website ad will expire after 1 month, just drop us a message or an e-mail if you would like us to relist your dog. Thanks everyone. Today after being contacted by many people who wanted to adopt we found the perfect home for him. This is a wonderful site and I will certainly refer anyone who has a retired dog to you. Thank you once again for enabling us to find the perfect family and home for him."
