•••RWD FOSTER DOGS•••RUBY AND PETE (Sister and Brother)- 6 years old- Huntaway- Fostered in Feilding These two are just the loveliest dogs; they are super easy to have around. We would love for them to find a home together as they are very close, but we will consider rehoming them separately if they go to homes with another dog. Ruby is a stunning blue Huntaway. She can be a little shy initially but is very sweet. Pete is very happy and laid back. He has had to have one of his back legs amputated due to an old injury that he arrived with, but this doesn't hold him back. Great with other dogs, and we think they will be ok in homes with other animals or children. If you're interested in adopting Ruby and/or Pete, please fill out our adoption form:https://bit.ly/RWD-ADOPTIONMore information and photos of them can be found on our website:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/ruby-and-pete-feilding/

We love hearing about our dogs after they've found new homes. The lovely owner of these two sent us this photo today. "The big guy (Bailey) we have had 3 yrs in November. The smaller female (Poi) we have had 2 years in Dec. We got them both when they were 10 months old. They run with us, with the horses or mountain bikes 5 days out of 7 and cruise round our 20 acres for the rest of the time." Living the good life!

He's a sensitive wee soul but once he trusts someone, he will love them and follow them anywhere. ❤️ FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED❤️Scribble is an 18 month old pig dog breed (has never hunted) who is looking for a very particular home. He is currently located in Feilding. This sweet, smoochy character thinks he’s a lap dog, will follow his person everywhere, and steals the hearts of everyone who meets him. He would be a fantastic companion for an active family, but is also very chilled and happy to lie around and sleep when there’s nothing going on.He’s also a little ratbag who is capable of scaling a 1.8m fence 😅 and because of this we have had to put him into boarding kennels for the time being, which is not ideal.Scribble never goes far, but he is very talented at removing himself from a section when the mood is upon him.We are looking for a home where Scribble is able to come to work with his person. Maybe a builder? Maybe you work in an office and have a space for him to curl up under your desk? He will need a secure, roofed run for those times he has to be left at home alone, and would love to be an inside dog otherwise.Scribble is great to walk, gets on very well with the two bossy female dogs he has been fostered with, can be a bit unsure with other male dogs but warms up quickly. Has not been in foster with stock but has seen them from a distance. Has met one cat and just stared at it, he may chase if a cat runs so will need some introductions. He has not met chooks. He is very food motivated and will be easy to train, has his basic commands mastered and is house trained. He would love a female dog buddy but will also be happy to be an only dog if he is with his people a lot.If you could offer Scribble a foster home please follow this link: https://bit.ly/RWD-FOSTERIf you would like to apply to adopt Scribble, please follow this link: https://bit.ly/RWD-ADOPTION

Skip is a lovely older lady who is looking for a lifestyle block or small farm to retire to, where she can help out now and then and also be a loved family member. Great with people, loves to herd ducks. Best suited as the only female dog as she is bossy.https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/skip-pongaroa/
3-legged Jack is looking for a very special home. His farm has sold and he needs to find a working home with sheep, but he has some quirks.Jack is suspicious of people he doesn't know and has nipped strangers in the past. Once he knows and trusts people he is fine, but this will take time. Please read his ad fully before applying for him.https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/jack-pongaroa/

Flint is a 1 yr old male heading dog, a friendly fella, maybe a little shy at first. He is bright and quick to learn. Loves to run and play with other dogs. Needs an active life with lots of exercise. Unfortunately, due to a fright as a pup he isn’t going to make it as a sheep or cattle dog. Would suit someone on a lifestyle bock as a mate.Contact his owner:https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/flint-raetihi/

Knight - LevinKnight is a 1 year old castrated male Smithfield cross. He is a big strong boy who is very clever and loves to learn. This handsome boy would suit a home where he can use his brain as well as getting lots of exercise. Great with other dogs, loves people but can jump up a bit so would suit older children. Needs good fencing and further training around chooks and other animals.
Tosca - TaumarunuiTosca is a 3-4 year old castrated male working breed cross. He is good with all other animals and great with kids. Tosca has an impressive bark when people arrive and would ake a good alert dog. A lovely, easy boy to have around. Tosca is NOT good around moving vehicles as he will chase tyres. Fine when on a lead.
Jack - TaumarunuiJack is a 8 month old pig dog breed, has never hunted. He is a sweet boy with nice manners. He's great with other dogs and enjoys playing. We are unsure what he is like with other animals, but did come from a home with stock and chickens.

A gentle reminder - we are not a Buy and Sell Page. We list dogs on behalf of private owner on the understanding that they are not asking for money. Please let us know if you are asked for money for a dog listed by a private owner (not our foster dogs or dogs listed on behalf of charitable organisations). You can message this page or contact us via our website: https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/contact-us/. Thanks
UPDATE: both dogs have adoptions pending ❤️🐾Abby and Bet are two beautiful girls looking for a female shepherd (together or individually). Their owner is very sad to see them go, and only wants the best home for them. These two have worked and have voice commands, but have been out of work a little while due to owner’s health. They would love someone to bring them back into doing what they enjoy.https://retiredworkingdogs.org.nz/dogs-for-adoption/abby-and-bet-eketahuna/
🐾FOSTER HOME NEEDED-FEILDING🐾Brax is an absolute sweetheart, the happiest, waggiest creature. But he is also a ratbag who does not like to be contained, and is very talented at removing himself from any form of cage or crate.Unfortunately for him (and us), he needs to be on strict cage rest for the next 4-6 weeks while he recovers from a pretty epic orthopaedic surgery 😅We would be very grateful if some lovely person who works from home would like to offer Brax a spot where he can be tied up in sight of his people, so he can chill and feel like he is a part of things and let his leg heal!He is actually very happy to lie around if he is tied up near people. We will provide all food, vet care and be on hand to support his fosterers. He will need to come back in to Totally Vets Feilding regularly to have X-rays and check his progress (and to lose his boy bits). He is good with other dogs, not worried about cats, and loves people. If you are in or near Feilding and would be able to help us with Brax, we’d love to hear from you! Please fill out this form: bit.ly/RWD-FOSTER

UPDATE: an incredibly generous human has covered this gorgeous girl's surgery costs! We are truly grateful. If you are interested in potentially fostering her then please email retired.workingdogs@gmail.com ❤️A wonderful team in the Taranaki have taken on Miss, a 2yo working dog who needs a forelimb amputation after sustaining a severe injury. She won't be able to go back to her previous career but would love a home on a lifestyle block! We're looking for a potential foster home for Miss, and if anyone is able to donate towards her surgery we would be very appreciative, especially in these tougher times! Please head to our website if you are able to help out: www.retiredworkingdogs.org.nz ❤️
