About Tank:

Tank is a medium-sized, male Heading Dog, aged 1 years old.

Description:

Tank is an 18mo male Heading Dog who came to me for rehoming. He was bred on a farm out of working parents but hasnโ€™t had anything done with him. As a result he was quite undersocialised and timid and needed somewhere to go.

Tank would be an ideal lifestyle block dog. He is scared of stock (though can now hang out in the paddock with the heifer and goats without bolting!), and much prefers the pet life. He is an absolute clown, really starting to show his personality and engage with training.

Since being with me Tank has been introduced to the world with road trips to Wellington, 5-20km hikes, making lots of human and dog friends and learning about sleeping in a crate indoors. He is easy to have around, but is still learning so would best suit someone kind but firm, who is keen to put some work into continuing his training.

Super food motivated, quiet in kennel or crate (have not left loose indoors to say heโ€™s truly toilet trained), plays well with my Kelpie and safe with my cats (though does need boundaries in place as he is playful if given the chance). Would probably love some older kids to play with, but young kids might be a bit overwhelming at this stage. Super soft nature and easy to handle.

Was vaccinated with previous owners on farm run. Has been microchipped, council registered and flea/wormed with me. Desexing will be organised with new owners, has been delayed while building his confidence.

A bit about Tank’s personality:

Tank is still on the timid side, but starting to show some real personality – loves to play with other dogs and toys on his own, and keen to engage in training for food. Heโ€™s a real clown and keeps me laughing on a daily basis with his antics. If someone is keen to put the work in, he is a best mate kind of dog who will do anything for you. Super easy to have around.
